About me
My name is Giacomo Barro, I am 22 years old, and the wind is my direction.
I am an Italian Slalom Windsurf athlete, competing in both Fin and Foil disciplines. I was born and raised on Lake Iseo, where my journey began. For me, windsurfing is more than just a sport—it is a way of life, a constant challenge against the water, the wind, and my own limits.
Passion for Windsurfing
Where My Passion Began
My story started as a child at Sportaction, in the windiest spot on Lake Iseo, a place that became both my home spot and the foundation of my growth. What began as a discovery soon became a game, and then an irresistible calling.
At the age of 17, my passion evolved into something much greater. At 18, after earning my windsurf instructor certification, I started sharing what I had learned by teaching others while continuing to train every day.

In 2023, I began competing in national regattas, opening an entirely new chapter in my sporting career. Racing transformed me, teaching me discipline, consistency, mental focus, and the ability to react under pressure.
In 2024, I made my debut on the PWA World Tour in Fuerteventura, competing in both Fin and Foil. It was not a finish line, but the beginning of an exciting journey.
2025 marked a breakthrough season. I became the Italian Slalom Champion in both Fin and Foil, a result achieved through dedication, hard work, and a constant desire to improve.
